Preserving Our Story
Why an archive, and not a scrapbook
Greater Mt. Zion’s history is part of the larger story of African American life, faith, leadership, and community development in Waycross and Ware County. Much of that story exists only in family albums, funeral programs, church minutes, and memory.
The archive gathers it in one place, catalogs it, and makes it usable — for members, for students, for researchers, and for the generations who will ask what happened here.
